About William

William is represented by Vital Management.

William Hanson, “the UK’s leading etiquette and Royal protocol expert”, a description which barely touches the surface of his polished excellence. Hanson is Special Forces in the world of politeness and has a staggering ability to make one feel the centre of attention and utterly inadequate at the same time. Financial Times

Many people wonder whether there’s much demand for an etiquette and protocol consultant in this fast-paced day and age, but as William will tell you unflinchingly, you only have to look at people going about their time-precious lives to see that he could be cloned to good effect, as people are persistently being rude, inconsiderate and generally ghastly.

William is widely regarded as the UK’s freshest and most trusted authority on etiquette and protocol. His youth, coupled with his old-fashioned values, gives him credence to adjudicate on modern manners.

He regularly tutors overseas and has taught classes in America, Dubai, Italy and Russia, and works extensively in China.

Brands for which William has advised

William understands that good manners and etiquette, which are based on common sense, should be universal. He strives to incorporate their proper use in a 21st century context, helping everyone to become more aware of, and sensitive to, the ways in which they conduct their lives.

A regular contributor to global media not only as an etiquette expert but also as an astute social commentator, William has been seen on BBC Breakfast, ITV This Morning, CNN, and Russell Howard's Good News, and is regularly to be heard on BBC Radio 5 Live. To see a sampling of his media work, please refer to the media page.

He has contributed to several books, and is currently writing his own, to be released at the end of 2013 (watch this space for details).

William was honoured to be asked to contribute to the commentary of the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton for and The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee for the BBC, CNN and America's Discovery TLC Channel.

An experienced public speaker, William is frequently requested to share his thoughts about his career and focused views on modern behaviour.

In January 2012, William helped set the Guinness World Record for the 'Longest Curtsey Relay in 5 Minutes' in New York, thus making him the world's first (and, to date, only) World Record Breaking etiquette expert. Read more.

May 2012 saw William launch his first set of apps for iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches. Read more.

As you can probably tell, William is not your garden variety modern ‘young person’. Friends say that he is a 50-year-old trapped inside the body of a 23-year-old. They are probably right.
